His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, issued Ministerial Decision No. (60) for 2024, which significantly reduces fees for services offered by the ministry across sectors such as commerce, industry, business development, and consumer protection. These fee reductions, in some cases exceeding 90%, are intended to boost the country's economic growth, support both national and foreign enterprises, and create an attractive environment for investment. The decision will come into effect the day following its publication in the official gazette.
In his statement, His Excellency emphasized that this fee reduction aligns with the ministry's strategy to enhance Qatar's investment climate and advance its trade and industry sectors. The decision is also part of efforts to achieve the objectives of the Third National Development Strategy (2024-2030), which focuses on sustainable economic growth, diversification, and improving the business environment in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
Support for National Enterprises
His Excellency further noted that this reduction in service fees will benefit national enterprises and entrepreneurs, whether individuals or companies. The lower fees will make it easier for investors to access high-quality services and will boost the competitiveness of businesses. This move is expected to support new ventures and encourage expansion across various sectors.
Attracting Foreign Investments
A key aspect of the minister's initiative is to attract more foreign investments to Qatar, enhancing the private sector's role in achieving economic diversification and sustainability. The ministry will continue to refine its services to offer an optimal and flexible experience for both local and international investors, reinforcing Qatar's position as a prime investment destination.
Fee Reductions Based on Detailed Study
This decision follows comprehensive evaluations and studies conducted by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to assess the needs of the business environment and investors. The fee reductions apply across all ministry sectors, including services related to commercial registration, commercial licensing, corporate services, investment services, and intellectual property protections like patents and copyrights.
The decision is anticipated to have a positive impact on the market, particularly on services related to company formation, commercial registration issuance, and licensing.
